URBANEBLOC: Pick of the Androids

Smooth pearl whites, crisp carbon, and striking silvers – whether you’re pining for a new phone or in search for something special back to school, your digits might just be in need of pawing something new. While summer lovin’s having me a blast, I’ve been toying away at some Androids of my eye.

Left to my own literal devices in the middle of nowhere, three phones kept me good company; the INQ Cloud Touch, Motorola ATRIX, and the Sony XPERIA Arc. Dusty roads, towering grass blades, and glimmering gadgets – nature’s calling “Game on, Gloria!”

INQ Mobile’s Cloud Touch phone is a bubbly electronic – it greets you with your Facebook, boasts a 5megapixel camera, and nestles itself comfortably in the palm of your hand. It’s simple and it invites you to swipe your heart out. While its 3.5-inch display lacks a little in screen quality, it proves irresistibly easy to use. Stack on some slang bracelets and you’ve got some solid hand decor.

Candy bar phone reminiscent, the Motorola ATRIX is a multimedia demon. Boasting a dual core processor, lapdock station (convert your phone into a laptop), carbon fibre-esque backing and a movie monster, this phone is sophisticated to a tee. And if me rattling all of those goods off wasn’t enough, top it off with a finger scanner for a sensational sensory overload.

Skinny with sheen – the Sony XPERIA Arc packs an 8.1megapixel camera, 3D motion gaming, and multi-touch reality display with Mobile Bravia Engine into its slender frame. The phone browses beautifully too – rendering flash on web pages with ease (so fret not, your Jersey Shore Episodes can project on your portable device too).

Drum rolls for the pick? While my heart will always be with the likes of the Zack Morris phone, if I had to choose to be stranded with any good phone it would be the Motorola ATRIX. The 4G, HD-Video enabled phone is locked and loaded with possibilities. Bless the wrist with some bangles – let’s get ready for a fashion-tech night on the town.
